Non-Metallic Minerals:

Minerals such as sulphur, oil, shale, tar sand, phosphate and potash are difficult to core.  Borehole logging makes coring un-necessary while producing direct assays.  Logs will help determine mineralogy and concentration, depth, thickness, and lateral extension of deposits, as well as map mineral alterations produced by leaching, percolation, and igneous injection.

Base Matels:

All facets of base-metal mining incorporate borehole geophysics.  During the exploration phase, logs help determine total sulphide concentrations, significant mineral alteration processes and lithological ore details.  Logs will help identify the source of geophysical anomalies recorded with surface instruments.  During pre-mine and mining phases, logs can help guide production.
