The 2SNA-1000-S is a temperature-compensated, fully digital spectral gamma probe which samples 256, 512, or 1024 channels of natural gamma radiation in the energy range of 100 keV to 3 MeV at a rate of one complete spectrum, per second.  The standard detector used is a 25 mm by 76 mm crystal (1” x 3” CsI).  Larger crystal sizes are available for larger diameter tools.  The probe is controlled  by the MGX II Console digital telemetry system.  Operation software allows up to 5 energy windows from the spectrum to be examined during logging, including total gamma count rates.  For improved statistics, individual spectrum can be accumulated in a continuous or incremental logging mode.  Additional software from Mercury Geophysics  (click on LogCruncher link) is available for spectral stripping and basis spectra analysis to determine in-situ isotope concentrations.

Applications:   In-situ isotope analysis from naturally occurring radioisotopes.  Clay-typing.  Lithology.
